This is a WA issued White Card. I live in another state – is it still valid outside WA?
The following is quoted from the Government of Western Australia Worksafe website:
“Across all States and Territories, including here in WA, both types of cards (ie. the new White Card, and the old Blue Card) are accepted by the regulatory authority as evidence that induction training has been completed.” (Italicised words in brackets inserted by WhiteCard Australia) View website.
Does this replace the WA Blue Card?
Yes! The Worksafe WA website states: “WorkSafe is changing the design of construction induction cards from ‘blue’ to ‘white’ as a result of harmonisation of training across all States and Territories.” View website. If you have an existing WA Blue Card, you are still able to access worksites with this, but note that some larger blue chip construction companies are requiring that all employees and contractors hold the new national White Card.
As per Western Australian Legislation, the WA Blue Card is no longer issued; the White Card course replaces this and is mutually recognised in all states and territories.
I have lost my WA Blue Card, do I have to do the course again, or can I just order a replacement card?
Even though you are a legal holder of a Blue Card, we can no longer issue the previous Blue Card. You may want to contact the RTO who issued you your original Blue Card, however we suggest and recommend that complete the course and upgrade to a national White Card.
How long does it take to do the course?
The course covers the required nominal (face-to-face) six hours of content as required by legislation. However, due to the efficiencies of online learning we find most people take approximately 2 – 4 hours to complete the course. It is available online 24 hours a day, and if you stop the course you can log back in when suits you and it will remember where you were up to.
Once I finish the course how long does it take to receive my White Card?
Once you have filled out the Statutory Declaration and copied your identification, and both have been witnessed by as required, you can email, fax or post the documents to us. Once we receive the documents your card will be posted out via surface mail within 3-5 working days. (also see below).
Can I come in and do the course at the WhiteCardAustralia.com.au National Head Office?
Unfortunately no. We are an online provider only. We do not supply in-house training, and white cards cannot be collected from our office.
It’s URGENT! I need it by tomorrow!
Once you have successfully completed the course you will have access to your Statement of Attainment immediately. You can print this out at home. It is up to your employer’s discretion if this is sufficient evidence that you have completed the course, pending the arrival of your card. Your employer is welcome to phone us directly to verify that you have completed the course, and we can supply the White Card number in urgent cases.
Depending on workload, we may be able to post your card out the same day as we receive your paperwork, if the paperwork arrives in the morning, however please ring us to arrange this. (07 3118 6125)
